BESPOKE BATTLEFIELD TOURS
Kingshead is a UK based battlefield tour company offering a unique all-inclusive bespoke tour service for individuals/couples/families/small parties of friends (max 6 people), who prefer to travel independently rather than as part of a large group, and who wish to visit the battlefields on dates of their own choosing.
Our bespoke battlefield tours are planned and arranged around the individual requirements of our customers, and Jerry Whitehead (director of Kingshead) personally guides all our tours. We are pleased to offer personal bespoke guided battlefield tours to any part of the Western Front of the Great War, as well as to Second World War sites at Normandy and Arnhem.
The Bespoke Battlefield Tour Service we offer allows you the opportunity of planning and arranging a personal battlefield tour, tailor-made to your individual requirements, giving you the freedom to choose
-
When to travel
-
Which battlefield sites to visit
-
How many days you wish the tour to last
-
The places of personal significance to include in the itinerary
-
If you require assistance with pre-tour research into the military action of a relative
Our key feature is flexibility, ensuring each client's expectations are fully met. We are able to make alterations to the tour itinerary at any time - even during the tour.
your choice of tour
Kingshead can offer you a bespoke battlefield tour to visit the special places where your relatives or countrymen may have lived, fought and died. If you are tracing the footsteps of an individual who served in the war and have the regimental details and dates, we will research the history and provide you with a personal battlefield tour following the movement of their unit, as well as supplying you with detailed information and maps. This research, including a visit to the National Archives at Kew, is included in the service we offer on our bespoke battlefield tours, at no extra cost.
Or perhaps you would like to arrange a tailor-made battlefield tour to visit the sites of significant importance along the Western Front of the Great War, or at Second World War sites at Arnhem and Normandy - or maybe to visit both WW1 and WW2 venues on a combined battlefield tour. On a bespoke battlefield tour with Kingshead Adventures, the choice is yours.
bespoke battlefield tour service
Kingshead are specialists in providing all-inclusive bespoke battlefield tours, and the service we offer includes collecting you at a mutually convenient location in the UK, France, Belgium or Holland. On completion of your tour, we would be pleased to return you to the same location or to drive you to a hotel / train station / airport for your onward travel.
Bespoke battlefield tours to Great War sites can include the following: the Somme, Ypres, Cambrai, Verdun, Mons to the Marne, Advance to Victory, as well as visits to any location along the Western Front which may be of personal significance to you.
We are also pleased to offer personal guided battlefield tours based around specific Canadian, American, Australian, New Zealand, or South African interest in the Great War. We would be delighted to arrange a tailor-made tour to visit places of personal interest to you, or to propose a bespoke battlefield tour to follow the involvement of these nations in significant battles of the First World War.
Whatever your requirements, Kingshead can provide you with an
exclusive personal battlefield tour and a truly memorable experience
western front tours with gps trench maps
Our Great War Western Front battlefield tours are supported by LinesMan, a unique GPS navigation system overlaid on the official First World War trench maps. The computer technology provided on a visual in-car display allows guests to see our exact location relative to the trench maps as we drive along the Western Front. A hand-held device also allows us to walk the battlefield and find precise points of interest as detailed on the trench maps or, indeed, map references as may be quoted in documented Orders or War Diaries.
This means that on our bespoke First World War battlefield tours to the Western Front, we can take our customers (where physically possible) to the exact location where a specific action took place – perhaps where a relative may have been mentioned in Despatches, or even won a medal for their action – and to follow in the footsteps of their unit during the Great War.
Jerry was instrumental in the development of LinesMan and has been using this GPS trench map software on our Western Front battlefield tours for the past couple of years, taking our customers to precise locations on the battlefield where their relatives saw action during the Great War. The use of this innovative software to accurately pinpoint places where specific events took place, or to follow the route taken by a relative's unit, has proved very successful and popular with our customers, many of whom have commented on how special this aspect of their tour has been.
Kingshead invite you to embark on a journey of discovery, walking in the footsteps of your relatives or countrymen, uncovering details of battles in which they fought, and following the route taken by their units.
To arrange a personal tailor-made battlefield tour with Kingshead, please either telephone +44 (0)1689 837736 or email us at info@kingsheadadventures.com so that we may discuss your requirements. Each bespoke battlefield tour is custom made, and your tour will be designed around your specific needs and requirements, allowing you to visit the battlefield sites of personal interest to you.
